Job Description UPES is Hiring for Professor - School of Business! (Professor/ Senior Professor)Location - DehradunThe position will head the cluster and will be responsible for managing overall operations including, hiring and retention of faculty members, leading curriculum design and updation, monitoring academic delivery and its quality. The position will be responsible for driving research as per the inputs received from Associate Dean Academics and ensuring that the research outcomes for the cluster are as per the allocated targets and quality standards. It will also be responsible for implementing the initiatives identified for the rankings and accreditations, maintaining the cluster level database, supporting in the audits and closure of gaps highlighted during the audits. The position will also undertake faculty management and ensure student engagement at the cluster level.KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Cluster OperationDrive initiatives at the cluster level to meet the goals of the schoolPlay a key role in hiring and retaining the right facultyProvide inputs to the Dean-School on budgeting for the clusterManage the expenses of the Cluster within allocated budgetWork closely with the Assoc. Dean Academics for Curriculum design and updationEnsure robustness of the courses and the teaching quality along with the Associate Dean AcademicsExtend support to the Enrollment team for activities related to admissions for the Cluster. Interact with the prospective students and their parents during enrollment activitiesCoordinate with the placement team and ensure preparedness of students eligible for placementInteract with companies regarding placement and internship opportunities for students Teaching & LearningReview the analysis and information shared by Manager Operations and Analytics regarding teaching and learning and teaching qualityTake initiatives to bridge the gaps and address the issues highlighted by Manager-Operations & AnalyticsTeach the allotted subjects; prepare online modules for the subject and conduct assessment and evaluations ResearchEnsure that the goal assigned to the cluster for research output is achieved for the year.Guide and encourage faculty for conducting good quality research and for publishing research papersExtend support to the faculty in research related requirementsGuide Ph.D. scholars assigned to the clusterConduct research and write research papers as per individual goals identified for the cluster for the year Ranking & AccreditationEnsure maintenance of cluster level databases and timely providing the required information for rankings and accreditationsImplement initiatives at the cluster level, identified for specific ranking and accreditations and support in their auditsWork closely with the Dean-School, Associate Dean Academics and Director-Academic Management for closure of the gaps highlighted during these audits Faculty ManagementEffectively manage the performance of the faculty and conduct their performance appraisalsIdentify learning needs and ensure required industry exposure and opportunities for development for the facultyStrengthen inter-department communication, engender good team dynamics and resolve internal issues as required Student Experience Monitor the student feedback shared by Manager Operations & Analytics and take initiatives to address the issues Ensure timely resolution of all student related issues and grievances through program leaders/ faculty channels Monitor the Net Promoter Score for the Cluster and take initiatives for its improvementPROFILE REQUIREDQualificationPh.D. in the required domainStrong Academic profile including research work done, papers published and/or presented in refereed journal and forumsExperienceMinimum 10 years of teaching experience at a renowned University/ InstituteAt least 5 years of experience in Academic Administration or Heading a DepartmentKindly email at [Confidential Information]
